Crocodiles are part of the alligator family. They can be found in swamps in America, Africa and Australia.
EGGS
Female crocodiles lay about 50 leathery, white eggs. The eggs are really little. In Spring, crocodiles lay eggs. Crocodiles keep their eggs in their mouth when they want to find a new home.
CROCODILES SKIN
Crocodiles skin is like armour. Crocodiles skin is scaly so that it protects the crocodiles from flying hooves of prey. Crocodiles have strong claws to climb quickly up slippery river banks. Crocodiles have a formidable array of sharp teeth that are replaced continuously throughout the crocodiles life.
HOW LONG CROCODILES HAVE LIVED ON EARTH
Crocodiles have lived on Earth for millions of years. Crocodiles lived in dinosaur days.
WHAT FAMILIES THEY BELONG TO
Crocodiles belong to the alligator, reptile, snake and tortoise families.
WHAT THEY DO AT NIGHT
At night, crocodiles like to stay in the water where it is warm. When they sleep, they sleep on the ground under water sometimes. They also sleep on the grass.
Crocodiles are said to be wild animals. Crocodiles are wild but you're not allowed to kill them because they are endangered creatures. Crocodiles only kill people because all they want to do is protect their babies. Crocodiles are my favourite wild creature ever.
