At the end of this week we are celebrating the opening of our new building called Te Manawanui" - which means the big heart (of our school). We are hosting a number of guests during the week and thought it would be nice if each of our guests was given a gift when they left. We decided to make them a putiputi which is a woven flax flower. We buddied up with room 7 today and had our first go at making them. Many of us found it challenging however we did manage to make some.Making Putiputi on PhotoPeach
Great job.
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed making the putiputi. The first time we found it really tricky however as we practiced more, we found it got easier. We hope that the people we gave them to enjoyed them. We love being in Te Manawanui and enjoyed the opening because we got an ice-block.
