Te Manawanui - By Sydney and Katie

St Clair has a new building! It is called Te Manawanui. “Te” means “the”. “Manawa” means “heart”. “Nui” means “big”, so we can call it the big heart! It is the heart of our school where everyone can enjoy it and feel grateful for this special building.

The rooms in the Te Manawanui are the glass-room, atrium (downstairs), and mezzanine (upstairs). Te Manawnui started getting built near the start of the year and is now finished at the start of Term 4.

When we asked people what they thought about Te Manawanui , Avalon said “people should like it and it is a big space’’ Maddy said “the colours of the walls are very pretty and they are soft’’ Lil said “I like that the couches are dark red and that I like the swirly blue patterns on the roof.’’

Te Manawanui is a loving and caring place, full of k.c.m. (kindness, caring and manners.) A respected rule in Te Manawanui is no running and quiet voices so that everyone can learn and relax there in peace.
